Advocacy--Services that help people secure or improve services from government or other agencies.
Advocacy and Support Services--A general description of services provided by Arc chapters in Minnesota. Support services often include workshops, information and referral services, support groups, technical assistance, etc.
Arc--Formerly know as the Association for Retarded Citizens
Arc Chapter--A local group that provides advocacy and support services to people who have developmental disabilities and their families. There are
thirty throughout the state. Most operate under Arc Minnesota’s corporate status, with several of the larger chapters being their own corporation.
Arc Minnesota Foundation--A separate non-profit corporation designed to benefit Arc supporters and Arc chapters by promoting planned giving and managing investments.
