D.D. Council--A division within the State Planning Department responsible for providing information, technical assistance and training to promote system changes. Distributes funding based on federally approved priorities. Sponsors the Partners in Policymaking Project, a training initiative designed to empower persons with disabilities and family members.
DCFL--Department of Children, Families and Learning. The state department responsible for oversight and administration of kindergarten through grade 12 education services to students with and without disabilities.
DD Waiver Program--A federal program funded by Medical Assistance that finances a variety of home and community based services, depending upon individual need. Waives federal institutional standards governing use of Medicaid funds.
DHS--Department of Human Services. The state department responsible for development and oversight of programs serving people with disabilities.
DTH--Day Training and Habilitation Services.
Licensed programs that provide a variety of services to adults with disabilities.
