MDH--Minnesota Department of Health. The state department responsible for oversight of health care providers.
Medicaid--The federal program that provides entitlement to persons with disabilities to access certain acute care or long term support services. Funded by federal dollars with matching funds from states. Known as Medical Assistance in Minnesota.
Medical Assistance (MA)--Minnesota Medical Assistance. A federal and state funded program that provides access to acute health care services and long term support services to persons who have disabilities, the elderly, and families who have limited incomes.
MHFA--Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. A state department that administers many housing programs.
Minnesota Disability Law Center--The federally designated protection and advocacy system for persons with disabilities.
MR--Mental Retardation
