ACR was established in 1981 to provide residential services for people with developmental and other disabilities. Jim and Dorothy Nelson are ACR’s founders and have firmly established ACR’s goal to provide the best possible physical and emotional support to individuals with developmental and other disabilities.
We currently support over 200 individuals the following living situations:

1 CAC Corporate Foster Care home with 24-hour nursing
ACR stands for Acceptance, Communication and Respect builds relationships, and these are the cornerstones of our philosophy. By "acceptance" we mean that we firmly believe that every person has value, and we accept each person with his or her own uniquenesses. As for “communication” and “respect”, we do everything we can to establish, maintain and encourage communication for the people we support, to treat them with dignity and respect, and to help them build relationships with friends, family and staff. The staff focus is on interacting with the people we support, and helping them to meet their own personal goals.
